Funniest Game Show Answers of All Time

Honestly, it has taken me quite a while to sit down and actually blog. I feel like you need to be at least a little inspired to write and that is just something I haven’t been feeling lately. I was going through some recent posts from the class and I came across Jared’s post about making time for yourself and devoting a little time each day to just relax. Amid all of the hustle and bustle of midterms, I feel like I’ve been going, going, going, writing papers, studying for tests, and definitely not sleeping. This has made for a very unproductive and unhappy Brittany.
Last week, I kept seeing this video pop up in my Facebook newsfeed. Supposedly containing the funniest game show moments of all time, this video was fifteen minutes in length and all of my Facebook friends claimed it was the funniest thing they had ever seen; they laughed and laughed until tears fell down their faces.
Or so they said.
Of course I couldn’t believe them until I saw it for myself. But fifteen minutes? That’s a lot of time to spare. Could I really afford to spend fifteen minutes not studying and watching a YouTube video instead?
Obviously, I decided to take Jared’s advice and take a little time for myself. Fifteen minutes of not studying is the perfect amount of time for a mental break. I clicked on the link and it took me to YouTube. I watched maybe the first thirty seconds of this clip and realized very shortly after that this was too good not to share. I called across the hall to my roommate Lauren and told her that she may be about to waste fifteen minutes of her life, but she was going to do it with me and I promised her that it would be worth it.
What ensued was fifteen minutes of straight laughter. This compilation of clips was too much for Lauren and me to handle. We would crack up at the ridiculous answers and laugh about those until the next ridiculous answer occurred and then we laughed even harder. How can these absurd answers be THIS funny? I laugh because I can’t imagine ever coming up with an answer as dumb as the ones they were giving (shoutout to Morreal for educating me on superiority theory!). But then again, I can’t imagine being put on the spot with only a few seconds to formulate an answer. Who knows what the first thing in my head and out of my mouth would be?
From the comfort of our couches, it’s easy to come up with an eloquent and intelligent answer. Imagine the pressure and stress of being put on the spot without a second to come up with an answer. I personally can’t imagine ever answering the question “name a famous Willy” with “Willy the Pooh” or “name a food that you marinate” with “grapes,” and I think that’s what makes it so funny. To top it off, the reactions after the contestants realize their mistakes are just priceless.
I know that watching this video left me with a bellyache from laughing so hard. Next time you’re feeling down and just need a little pick-me-up, I recommend watching this video. I can almost assure that you will finish and laugh as hard as we did.

  1. Hey Brittany, I really like that you mentioned reading Jared's post in your blog and how it influenced your actions because I think that it's really great that you can take other people's ideas and thoughts and incorporate them into your life or at least into your thoughts. I haven't watched this video yet, but from your description I am extremely (typed very and had to erase it) excited to watch it. I also liked that you said you brought your friend in from across the hall because I believe that humor and laughter becomes amplified when you share it with others and this is a perfect example of that. I thought it was also really clever of you to throw in the perspective of why you think they might have said these answers, due to the pressure they are under. I had never really thought about that. I love the post and I'm excited to read more.
